The experience starts from the moment you enter the 14th century manor on the historic estate of Sa Torre in Llucmajor. Chef Bio
Andreu’s career in the kitchen began washing dishes in a resort hotel when he was only 15 years old. At the age of 16, he started his studies at the School of Hospitality at Balearic Islands University. After completing his course, he started work in the kitchens of several different 5-star hotels in Mallorca. Andreu began honing his culinary skills even further, learning from the best of the best throughout the restaurant world. Cuisine has no borders for Andreu—he’s worked in London, Stockholm, Brazil, Moscow, Paris, Miami and even for Kuwait’s ruling family.
Drawing on his international experience, in April 2011, he decided to open his own restaurant, “Andreu Genestra” in the Predi Son Jaumell Rural Hotel in Capdepera. The reward for his hard work and sacrifice came 3 years later when the Michelin Guide awarded him a Michelin Star and the Repsol Guide gave the restaurant two Soles. In 2020, he also received a Michelin Green Star in recognition of his commitment to sustainability in his cuisine. Andreu continued to work on other projects, including opening a bistro restaurant in Palma named Aromata and working with La Alacena to create a new brand: La Alacena de Genestra. Genestra’s latest conquest has brought him to opening Andreu Genestra Mediterranean Restaurant.
